Once again at play with light , creativity and experimentation. Since finding people to collaborate with has become scarce, I have come to appreciate the uncommon things to photograph and have taken a great liking to it. This is a start of a series with a wooden muse, ( it may change as I progress).
A little change on presentation today. Another beast that I have been using is the Omega View 45D. It has been quite an adjustment having been alternating between these two favorites, ( pinhole camera and Omega 45D large format). I have not posted any images as yet, still getting use to the range and almost limitless movement that you can get from this beast. One thing for sure is that it isn’t easy for self portraiture especially since the […]

I did it! I signed a new lease yesterday and I am now a proud owner of a new creative space…..finally. I have had many ups and downs in the past with studios and many disappointments, but I decided to focus on my goals no matter what . I realized that fear has been my reason for not wanting to take charge of where I wanted to go and be, but that fear is now in the back of my […]
It has been a week of pure madness. A madness that I have been enjoying very much. You know this had to go further than just testing on still life, right?
Last Saturday I had planned to go out on the road to return to some locations that I felt would fit some creative ideas I have been dying to put together. Unfortunately, the weather was terrible so I had to cancel out on that idea. Instead of sulking on the couch I decided to head into the darkroom to make some prints. This print is from a series I did with Peter Grogono, who is really cool and down to […]
In the month of March 2017, I had posted a video of portrait photographer Luis Plácido López Caballero which showed him going through his whole creative process from start to finish when he photographs a portrait using a large format camera. Whenever I view this presentation, it makes me want to do just the same. I invite you to take a look at his website. So here I am six months later taking in that inspiration and putting it in […]
It has been a while since I have gone out and about on the streets of Montreal at night. I really have to do this more often. I chose to use my Nikon F100 for this self challenge because I find it perfect in situations where movement is quick and all around me.
The last few weekends I have been traveling out on the road visiting different areas of Montreal. I have never been one to really photograph landscapes but I have come to really enjoy it. I decided to walk about with my 4×5 pinhole camera and my Minolta XD. I received 3 rolls of expired Agfa APX 100 film for Christmas, it is a film I love to use. Here is one of my favorites so far photographed with my Minolta XD:
Roy DeCarava Roy DeCarava (December 9, 1919 – October 27, 2009) was an American painter and photographer who resided in New York City. DeCarava was initially known for his early work chronicling the lives of African Americans and jazz artists in Harlem. DeCarava came to be known as a founder of fine art black and white photography separate from the “social documentary” style of his predecessors. DeCarava produced five books, including The Sound I Saw and The Sweet Flypaper of […]
