Yashica D (Grey)

Finally a backup Yashica D! Gifted from a very good friend of mine.

The summer has finally arrived and what better way to enjoy it by heading out on the road with a beautiful walk-around beast, the Yashica D.

The Yashica D is my favorite medium format camera and for a long time, (about 2 years now), I have been trying to find a second one as a backup.

I came close once and I was so put off because although the store owner said he would put it aside for me for one week, when I went to pick it up it was sold. I was so disappointed because I have been a loyal customer for many years and have sent many referrals to boot.

Having been pumped about it for so long, out of impulse I ended up purchasing a Yashica Mat 124G on that same day which I regret buying. The camera is in excellent condition, looks almost new in fact, but after I came down from my impulsive action I realized that I did wrong and should have not spent the money on something I did not truly want.

A very good friend of mine knew how stricken I was about it and I was so pleasantly surprised when he gifted me a Yashica D, (grey), last week! As soon as I received this wonderful gift I tested it out right away. No light leaks and the shutter seems to work perfectly at all speeds plus the timer works too. This could not have come at a better time since my first Yashica D, (black), has been suffering from small light leaks which I have fixed temporarily with pieces of foam. A temporary fix can blow up at anytime and I would hate to run into that kind of situation on a good day.

I am so thankful for such a wonderful gift!
