Jasmine Tea

This will be my last journal entry on Cyanotypes for now. I have been working on a series and will not share anything until it is complete.

It seems that the most I have right now in regards to being able to come through with a variety of toning results is working with tea. I still have yet to try out different brands of coffee other than Nescafe, but for now using tea will be my focus. I have said my preference is coffee, but with tea I can experiment with extensively without breaking the bank.

My first experience with Jasmine tea was pretty satisfying. In comparison to Orange Pekoe tea, I found the Jasmine tea toned more towards a chocolaty brown where the Orange Pekoe tea toned more towards a reddish brown.

Here is a comparison:

You will notice that the highlights are better maintained on the Jasmine tea toned prints than that of the Orange Pekoe tea toned print which is something I really like, and has made me to turn towards experimenting with tea a little more.
